Here are five products that all have a cancer myth connected with them.
Artificial Sweeteners- Although Cyclamate has been found to cause cancer in lab rats and the FDA banned it, there was no proof that it caused it in humans.
Mouthwash- It has been said that mouthwash leaves your mouth vulnerable to cancer causing items like cigarettes. The truth is that higher alcohol content mouthwash may do that but if you use the mouthwash properly you’ll have no problem at all.
Cell Phones- This one is still being studied but so far scientists have found no connection between cell phone use and cancer.
Deodorant- Some people claim that the level of aluminum in women antiperspirant may effect estrogen levels in women and leave them more vulnerable to breast cancer. A study done in 2002 proved that there is no connection between cancer patients and deodorant.
Hair Dye- After a pattern of male hairdressers with bladder cancer was discovered in 2008 there has been increased concern of the chemicals in hair dye causing cancer. However the National Cancer Association has found no evidence connecting modern day hair dyes and cancer.
